What is our Scholarship Programme?
We have made funds available to sponsor up to three students the sum of
£3,000 per year for the duration of their university studies, up to a maximum of
4 years. During this time, our students are expected to participate in our
summer placement programme each year within either our London or Bristol offices
and will be paid a pro-rata salary of £19,000 while they are working for us.
Each placement will last a maximum of eight weeks, but we are flexible within
this to ensure the programme is tailored to meet your needs. Departments that
offer placements include Dealer Relations, IT, Finance, HR, Customer Services
and Fleet Operations. In addition to on-the-job training throughout the
placement, there will also be classroom based training opportunities. We do not
offer travel and accommodation costs for the summer placement and students would
be expected to make their own suitable arrangements. Students must be eligible
to work in the UK full time for the duration of the summer placement.
We will also provide a "buddy" within the business who will be on hand
throughout the academic year as well as during the work experience periods.
On graduation, candidates can apply for a permanent job, depending on the
skills set of the candidate and the business opportunities available, but we
would not require a firm commitment from either party at the outset of the
scholarship term.

Why are we offering a Scholarship Programme?
As an organisation whose 485,000 customers are disabled, building our
disability expertise is a key objective of our strategy. As well as building our
disability confidence and knowledge, we also work to build a reputation
externally as a credible provider of services for disabled people and as an
employer of choice. We believe that our sponsorship and work experience gives
disabled students access to the work place in order that they can gain some
structured and worthwhile work experience, to help pave the way for their future
careers.
The Scholarship Programme is an example of how we can provide not only
opportunities for disabled people, but also for us to improve how we work with
disabled colleagues.
